Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is going to be at the reception for President Donald Trump and the other NATO leaders at Buckingham Palace on Dec. 3. Queen Elizabeth is hosting a dinner for the political leaders, but Kate will not have Prince William with her.

According to Daily Express, the Alliance's 70th-anniversary dinner will coincide with Prince William's trip to the Middle East, specifically Kuwait and Oman. The Duke of Cambridge was invited by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office so he will be abroad for four days, from Dec. 1 to 4.

Kate, however, will be with the rest of the royal family to welcome their esteemed guests. According to reports, this dinner will be like training for the duchess as she will also be taking on queenly duties one day.

Queen Elizabeth has also asked the presence of Prince Charles, his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, his sister Princess Anne and his brother Prince Edward for this dinner. Missing from the royal event would be Prince Harry and Meghan, who are going on a six-week break to the U.S. Prince Andrew is also not expected to be at the dinner as he has recently announced he will be indefinitely withdrawing from his royal duties.

Last Thursday night, Kate missed out on accompanying and watching her husband deliver his speech for the Tusk Conservation Awards. The Duchess of Cambridge had to cancel her appearance at the last minute due to their children.

Although Prince William went solo that night, the Cambridge couple was a united force during the tea party for the awardees that afternoon. A few days before that, Prince William and Kate enjoyed their date night while performing their royal duties, as they attended the Royal Variety Performance.

Kate said that their children wanted to come to the glitzy event after seeing their parents all dressed up. However, they were not obliged to go since it was a school night.

Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth's dinner will be the last few events for the royals as they wind down for the holidays. Members of the royal family are expected to travel to Sandringham to celebrate Christmas with Her Majesty. However, Prince William and Kate have yet to announce if they will join this year's traditional Christmas lunch.

Reports stated that the royal family Christmas has been ruined because of the feud between Kate and her sister-in-law Meghan Markle. Rumors alleged that the duchesses had a shouting match that supposedly increased the tension between them.
