Former Hollywood couple Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan have been divorced since last year, but their conflict in child custody has yet to be resolved. New allegations of custody, child support, and FaceTime communication to their daughter have been brought up after Tatum when to court this week.
The 39-year-old actor filed a petition asking the family court judge in their case to clear up their custody details so they could spend equal time with their daughter. Tatum claimed he and Dewan are having "conflict" with the custody of their six-year-old child, Evelyn, due to their busy schedules.
There are rumors that Dewan's work schedule affects the custody arrangement that the former couple had agreed to. She allegedly asked Tatum to change the custody schedule, but the Dear John actor refused.
Dewan accused her ex-husband of blindsiding her when she filed a petition in court. Reports have it that the World of Dance host was stunned and upset when Tatum asked the judge to put together a custody schedule for the holidays.
The Supergirl actress said Tatum is "grandstanding" because she had already signed off on a previously agreed schedule. Channing's camp, however, claimed Dewan didn't agree on the entire schedule.
Apparently, this led the actor to request the judge's help. A hearing on the petition was set on January 28, 2020.
Apart from the custody issues, the two are also reportedly arguing about child support and FaceTime schedule. Dewan claimed Tatum is not giving any financial support to his daughter. The actor's camp, on the other hand, clarified that there is a joint bank account that was created to take care of Everly's expenses. Both Tatum and Dewan contribute to the account.
As for the FaceTime issue, Dewan's camp accused the actor of not allowing Evelyn to FaceTime with the actress. Tatum's side said Dewan is being so difficult that White House Down actor is FaceTiming with his daughter through her nanny. The former couple has an agreement that when Everly is with one parent, she could get to FaceTime with the other parent daily.
Tatum and Dewan first met on the set of Step Up in 2006. They tied the knot in 2008. Ten years later, they announced their split in April 2018 and Dewan filed for divorce in October 2018.
Both of them have already moved on. Tatum is currently dating singer Jessie J while Dewan is with Steve Kazee. She and the Grammy-winner singer are expecting their first child together.
