On Nov. 27, 2017, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle confirmed their engagement to the public. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex commemorated this special day by sharing a never-before-seen photo two years later on their social media profile.
But It's been more than three years since Prince Harry and Meghan met and fell in love. As their family and their relationship grow, here's a look back at where it all began.
Prince Harry and Meghan started dating in July 2016. They were keeping everything on the down-low back then despite plenty of speculations that the American TV star was seeing the royal bachelor.
In a Vanity Fair interview, Meghan confirmed that she and Prince Harry met around that time. That same year, Prince Harry issued a statement asking the public to put an end to the harassment of his girlfriend. This was a confirmation that Prince Harry and Meghan are in a relationship.
In January 2017, Meghan Markle met Prince Harry's brother, Prince William, and sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, as well as the Cambridge kids. A few months later, the pair attended the wedding of Kate's sister Pippa Middleton.
In August of that year, Prince Harry and Meghan headed to Botswana Africa for her 36th birthday. They also met up with some of Prince Harry's friends, who got to know Meghan for the very first time. It was believed that he proposed to her in this country as well, a few months later.
It came as no surprise when the couple announced their engagement with the blessing of Queen Elizabeth. Meghan had an audience with Her Majesty when it was clear that Prince Harry's relationship with the former TV star was turning serious.
Before announcing their engagement, however, Meghan decided to quit her TV show Suits and to act altogether. Her decision to give up a fledging career meant that she was ready to join the royal family.
Seven months after announcing they were engaged, Prince Harry and Marry got married at the St. George's Chapel in Windsor on May 19, 2018. By October, the pair announced they were expecting their first baby, which was due sometime in the spring.
On May 6, 2019, Prince Harry and Meghan welcomed Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor into their lives. They also said that the baby would not have any royal title because he will live a normal life as much as possible.
After Meghan resumed her royal duties, she and Prince Harry went on a tour of South Africa in October 2019. While there, Prince Harry issued another statement condemning the press of negative reports against the duchess. He vowed he would protect his wife and his family because he doesn't want a repeat of the tragedy that victimized his mother, Princess Diana.
