Justin Trudeau is now in the hot seat after being caught mocking Donald Trump in a video. Twenty-nine NATO leaders and representatives of several nations attended Queen Elizabeth II's reception at the Buckingham Palace, where the Prime Minister of Canada and other world leaders talked about the President of the United States behind his back.
Justin Trudeau, Boris Johnson, and Emmanuel Macron were caught in camera talking about someone who gave an unscheduled 40-minute interview. Although no one dropped the name of Donald Trump, a lot of people believed they were discussing the POTUS's impromptu speech, per Express.
In a clip shared by the Canadian current affairs program, CBC's Power & Politics, on Twitter, it showed the British Prime Minister telling the France President, "Is that why you were late?" Justin Trudeau then intervened and explained that he was late because he took a "40-minute press conference off the top."
Emmanuel Macron then made an animated gesture and said something, but his words were inaudible. Justin Trudeau, on the other hand, continued talking about the unnamed politician and said that his team's jaws just dropped to the floor.
Princess Anne joined the three gentlemen, but her face was covered. Hence, it wasn't clear if Queen Elizabeth's daughter was part of the conversation or just discreetly listening to their talk.
Meanwhile, according to CNN, Justin Trudeau admitted he was talking about Donald Trump in the clip. "Last night I made reference to the fact that there was an unscheduled press conference before my meeting with President Trump," he said in a press conference.
Although he was happy to be part of the press conference, Justin Trudeau said it was "certainly notable." The PM went on to say that he wasn't concerned if his comments would affect the US-Canadian relationship, even though Donald Trump already called him "two-faced." However, Trump added that Trudeau was a nice guy.
Donald Trump then canceled his scheduled press conference at the end of his NATO summit attendance, but he was later caught on his hot mic. He said that other people would surely question the cancellation of his press conference, saying he didn't do it while they complained about his impromptu speech. He then explained that it was the funny thing about the "two-faced" guy.
He also criticized Justin Trudeau for not paying the two percent defense spending target of NATO. Donald Trump believed the Canadian leader was not happy about the cost he heads to pay but insisted that he should pay for it, and Canada has the money.
