Even before Anthony Davis has joined up with LeBron James at the Los Angeles Lakers, speculations have been widespread that the Hollywood club intends to acquire Washington Wizards star, Bradley Beal. However, it seemed next to impossible that Beal would agree to trade or even consider a proposal.

The Lakers' fascination with Beal is understandable. He is young, and he is an excellent playmaker and converts in every opportunity. As a bonus, Beal as a guard defends well, so he certainly is an asset that could help James and company to win NBA titles for the Lakers.

However, the likelihood of Beal heading to the Lakers' way seemed remote at this time. According to Lakers Nation, the LA club has no assets to offer than could convince the Wizards to send Beal packing. Because of the deal that saw AD departing from New Orleans and now playing with James, the Lakers have run out of trading chips.

In other words, the rumors that the Wizards franchise players could soon wear the Lakers' jersey will be just that. They will remain as rumors.

In addition, the Express reported that changing team is not part of the plan for Beal, short-term and long-term.

"Bradley Beal has no interest in joining up with LeBron James and Anthony Davis at the Los Angeles Laker," the report said.

In a recent interview, Beal confirmed that he is not in chasing-title mode, and this was evidenced by the $72 million extension he signed with the Wizards. It looked like the All-Star intends to play out the extra two years he had committed to Washington.

"At the end of the day, there's no guarantee you'll win a championship by jumping ship," Beal was reported as saying.

He added that winning a title was considered when he decided to remain with the Wizards, and he seemed happy despite having no assurance that his team will advance to the playoffs.

"Only one team wins. When it comes down to my decision-making, I really factored that in. It looks great, but the grass isn't always greener," the All-Star said.

The Wizards seemed in good form anyway. According to Express, the team is at No. 3 in terms of scoring in the ongoing season. However, in order to win more, Beal and his cohorts need to work harder on defense.

The stats indicated that Washington tends to permit the opposition to score an average of 122.9 points per game, and the numbers are too high even for Beal to hurdle and manage enough wins for further advancement by the Wizards.
