Fresh from winning all the major awards at the 2019 Melon Music Awards, BTS won a total of nine awards at the recently concluded Mnet Asian Music Awards 2019, making history as the first group to win a Daesang Awards All-Kill at the ceremony.

BTS swept the Daesang Awards for four categories, including Album of the Year (Map of the Soul: Persona), Worldwide Icon of the Year, Song of the Year (Boy With Luv), and Artist of the Year, Hello Kpop reported.

Apart from the major awards, BTS also bagged the awards for World Wide Fan's Choice, Best Music Video, Best Male Group, Qoo10 Favorite Male Artist, and Best Dance Performance Male Group. Big Hit Entertainment CEO Bang Si Hyuk also won the award for Best Executive Producer of the Year.

During their emotional speech for the event, Suga shared the hardships that BTS members had to endure to get where they were. He confided that there were times that the members felt like they were going to collapse from exhaustion but after they have overcome the challenges, they can now remember the memories fondly.

RM also rallied his members and the fans with his statement. He promised that BTS will continue to work hard in making music and performing to shine even brighter.

RM, J-Hope, Suga, Jin, Jimin, V and Jungkook also performed their earlier hits, N.O., and We Are Bulletproof Part 2 before they kicked off their performances for Boy With Luv, Dionysus, and Mikrokosmos at the show. The performance showcased the evolution of the group since its debut.

TWICE was also a big winner for the night after they bagged Best Female Group, Best Dance Performance Female group for Fancy, Worldwide Fans Choice, and Qoo10 Favorite Female Artist.

Chung Ha also bagged three awards for Best Female Artist, Best Dance Performance Solo and Best Solo Dance Performance for Gotta Go. MONSTA X took the win for World Performance while MAMAMOO won for Favorite Vocal Performance. Big Hit Entertainment's TXT won the award for Best New Artist while ITZY emerged victorious as Best New Female Artist. WayV was adjudged Best New Asian Artist.

For the vocalists, OST queen Gummy received the award for Best Original Soundtrack for Remember Me. Taeyeon took home the prize for Best Solo Performance. The Best Vocal Performance for a Group went to Bolbbalgan for Born.
