The royal family recently welcomed the world leaders at Buckingham Palace for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Alliance’s 70th anniversary. US President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania Trump were among the attendees and they appeared to have witnessed a little argument in the palace.
Queen Elizabeth, Secretary-General of North Atlantic Treaty Organization Jens Stoltenberg, Prince Charles, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, shook hands with the Trumps as they arrived at the reception. However, it seemed like Her Majesty wanted her only daughter Princess Anne to do the same with the US President and his wife as well.
Footage shows Princess Anne standing on the left-hand side of the frame, while Queen Elizabeth was welcoming Donald and Melania Trump. When Her Majesty saw her daughter just staring at them, she seemed to be unhappy about it.
Queen Elizabeth then gestured to Princess Anne to join in. The Princess Royal looked confused and widened her arms as if asking her mother what she wanted.
The silent argument quickly garnered attention from netizens. "This is Delicious. #PrincessAnne,” one wrote. "You’re never too old to get a side-eye from your mum,” another one commented. "Princess Anne has the right amount of petty lol,” a royal fan shared.
Meanwhile, Kate Middleton was notably the only representative of the “royal fab four” in the NATO reception. The Duchess of Cambridge was accompanied by her private secretary Catherine Quinn while Prince William was completing a request by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to visit the Middle Eastern states at the time.
As for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, they are currently in the US, where they will be celebrating the Christmas season. Although earlier reports revealed that Queen Elizabeth approved their decision, many are still not too pleased with it.
Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are not getting any younger, so royal fans believe that Prince Harry should cherish his moments with them instead of having a vacation with Meghan Markle’s family.
“I am completely flabbergasted and upset that PRINCE (please note he is a prince of this royal family and as such has certain demands made upon him that aren’t terrifying or difficult) PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle will be here in the States for Christmas,” one fan wrote. “This is so wrong of them. Of him! Harry needs to act like a member of this royal family that feeds, clothes, loves, and supports him.”
