Kang Daniel revealed his close relationship with his mother when he appeared as the guest MC for SBS variety show, My Ugly Duckling.
According to a report by All Kpop, Kang Daniel shared what type of son he was to his mother during the broadcast. The idol melted the panel's hearts when he shared that he and his mother would chat for three hours at a time because he was best friends with his mom. He said that because he lived away from the rest of his family, his mom would worry a lot about him and ask him about his happiness.
In a heartfelt message, Kang Daniel told his mother how grateful he was that she raised him for 24 years of his life and expressed how happy he was that they had a good relationship.
"I'm grateful that we can both the best family and friend in one another's lives. In the future as well, I will take good care of you, and I hope you are always happy and healthy. I love you," he said.
During the broadcast, Kang Daniel also shared how he learned how to cook while he was living alone in Seoul.He said that at the start, he simply wanted to cook ramen for himself but as he learned how to work in the kitchen, he has mastered cooking specialty dishes like Korean beef and radish soup. He impressed the mothers on the panel when he described the process in great detail.
Last week, Kang Daniel caused alarm after it was announced by his agency, Konnect Entertainment, that he was going to take a hiatus because of panic order and despression.The former WANNA One member, who was supposed to appear on Show Champions, pulled out of the pre-recorded show after showing signs of extreme anxiety. Fans were also alarmed when Kang Daniel posted a series of messages on a fan café.
In his posts, Daniel expressed exhaustion over the amount of hate he has been receiving since his debut. He also complained about how every one of his moves was used to ridicule him and the people who supported him. He added that he also found it unfair that his family was being cursed out by his haters.
Based on the statement from his agency, Kang Daniel will temporarily halt his promotional activities for his comeback, Touchin' so he could focus on his mental health.
