Kang Daniel is getting ready to fight back against malicious commenters who are spreading false rumors on social media. His agency, Konnect Entertainment, has submitted evidence to police and is now poised to file a lawsuit against the offenders.
According to a previous report by Koreaboo, Kang Daniel has been the subject of fake news, sexual harassment, defamation, personal attacks, invasion of privacy, and malicious rumors for the past few months, prompting his agency to issue a warning against unscrupulous keyboard warriors who abuse their freedom to post.
In August, Konnect Entertainment already warned malicious commenters to stop contributing the offensive posts against Kang Daniel as they are already in the process of monitoring social media posts with the goal of pursuing legal action.
There have been many legal threats from agencies handling Kpop acts, but a lot have failed to push through with actual lawsuits to protect their artists. This time around, Kang Daniel's Konnect Entertainment is making a statement that it means business. Perhaps, it also factors that Kang Daniel is also the CEO of his agency that he is more inclined to pursue legal action.
Based on the report by All Kpop, Kang Daniel, through the official statement of Konnect Entertainment, thanked the fans for helping with the monitoring of the malicious posts.
"We have collected and selected particularly malicious comments based on our monitoring and your reported data and have finished filing those cases to the Seoul Gangnam Police District's Cyber Investigations Unit," Konnect Entertainment reported to fans.
However, the submission of information to the police is only the tip of the iceberg as the agency stated that it will continue to monitor and receive tips so that they can continue to bring to justice these abusive netizens.
It can be recalled that following Kang Daniel's successful release of his solo debut Color on Me last July, reports came out that he was in a relationship with TWICE's Jihyo. As Konnect Entertainment and JYP Entertainment confirmed that the two artists were indeed dating, the former Wanna One member received severe backlash from angry fans who felt betrayed by his relationship.
Kang Daniel was not the only one on the receiving end of the backlash as his friend, 2AM's Im Seulong, who was believed to be the one who introduced the couple, as also received bashing and negative comments from angry fans, according to reports.
Apart from the negative comments, many of the fans seem to have accepted the relationship between the two Kpop stars and wish them happiness.
