Red Velvet maintained its winning streak at Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart as it entered the Top 10 for the 15th time. RV's latest single Umpah Umpah entered the list as No. 9. If they maintain this performance, music experts say they might even overtake the record set by 2NE1.

According to a report by Billboard, Red Velvet has been impressively releasing hit after hit since their debut five years ago. Since their debut with 2014's Happiness which charted No. 4 in the World Digital Song Sales, all of their promoted songs made it to the Top 10 list consistently, peaking at #1 with Really Bad Boy that has 26,000 downloads to date.

If this continues, Red Velvet is on track to surpass the record set by 2NE1, the only Kpop girl group to chart 16 Top 10 singles in the World Digital Songs years after their disbandment.

Red Velvet has been doing well the World Albums Chart as well since their recent comeback, The ReVe Festival: Day 2 debuted at No. 6 on the chart. The album sold 1,000 copies on the week of its release on August 22, Nielsen Music revealed. This continues positive performance of Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy, and Yeri on the list since all 12 of their albums and EPs consistently made it to World Albums chart. This also marks strong support from international fans, apart from Red Velvet's domestic following.

Umpah Umpah has been earning a lot of praise among music experts who lauded the arrangement of the song that highlighted the girls' harmonies and upbeat flavor. The song also gave members Seulgi, Wendy, and Joy a bigger part so that they may showcase their strong vocals in the chorus.

It is expected that Red Velvet will return to the charts anew with the final installment of their comeback series in the last quarter of the year. It can be recalled that SM Entertainment announced that Red Velvet's comeback would be divided into three chapters.

Red Velvet initially released The ReVe Festival Day 1 in June with the title track Zimzalabim, while their recently released The ReVe Festival Day 2 carried the title track Umpah Umpah.

Red Velvet is also doing well in the brand reputation rankings conducted by the Korean Business Research Institute for August. Unlike previous months, the group conducted a joint survey of all idol groups with Red Velvet charting a strong Top 3 finish. Irene, Seulgi, Joy, Wendy, and Yeri trailed only BTS and TWICE in the overall ranking, Soompi reported.
