Camilla Parker-Bowles' son, Tom Parker Bowles, revealed his mother would have to leave Queen Elizabeth II and the royal family behind on Christmas Day. The Duchess of Cornwall would pull herself out early from the traditional mass to spend the holiday with her own family.

After the future queen consort spends Christmas Day morning with the royal family at Sandringham, she has to leave early to go to her Parker-Bowles family. Tom told Town & Country Magazine that even today; they still "drive down to be together."

"My mother's up with my stepfather, and she comes down on Christmas Day straight after the Queen's speech," he said. "So it's very much a family thing."

Despite the divorce of Camilla Parker-Bowles to her ex-husband, Andrew Parker-Bowles, Tom said that they are "a close-knit family." They even go on vacation together in London to spend Christmas with one another.

He even recalled the time when he was only six to eight years old when they would go to London. At the time, they would have lunch with his grandmother, wearing the best dress that he got. From there, he would go and look at the windows at Fortnum's or Selfridges or Harrods.

Meanwhile, Business Times recently reported Tom also remembered the time when his mother used to swear and sweat on one Christmas morning. After publishing his new cookbook, Christmas & Other Winter Feasts, the food writer opened up about Christmas with his family when he was a kid.

He recalled that there was this moment when he heard Camilla Parker-Bowles and her aunt cursing at six in the morning as they shoved the Christmas turkey into the oven. His mother was also sweating for the effort she put in to have that meal cooked.

Tom said that they woke them up as they kicked a turkey into the Aga, an English cooking thing that they had in the country. His mom and aunt would always make cooking the Christmas turkey a big deal as they were having a hard time doing it.

Camilla Parker-Bowles and Prince Charles are two of the most important royal family members that should be in attendance for the Christmas service with Queen Elizabeth. It has been a tradition for the royals to spend the holiday at Sandringham House, which is Her Majesty's country residence in Norfolk. Sadly, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle couldn't join them as they are on a six-week vacation.
