Tiffany Young recently revealed the hardships she endured in dealing with her father's debt controversy and the reason she broke off ties with him.
According to the former Girls' Generation member, she was already very stressed working 340 days out of 365 days in a year for eight years but she did not feel like she could stop, reported All Kpop.
In the December 10 episode of MBC's Human Documentary- People are Good, Tiffany showed her vulnerable side when she talked about her family. She confided that when the news broke out about her father's debt last year, she felt very helpless in dealing with the situation.
"We don't contact each other right now. At the time, I wondered how I should explain the situation. I felt a bit like the world was crumbling when my personal life and details even I didn't know about my family were revealed despite my intention or will. I decided to overcome that crumbling feeling and approach it with honesty," she said.
According to the report, the debt scandal in 2018 was not the first time that Tiffany had to deal with her father's debt, pushing her to sever all ties with him.
It can be recalled that when a person came out to accuse Tiffany's father with fraud, the singer turned to her agency and issued a statement of apology to the offended party. In her statement, she also explained her position and said that she too, had fallen victim to his issues.
Tiffany recently appeared on the MBC show after she concluded her two month stay in the US for her 2019 Magnetic Moon tour. In October, she performed in San Francisco, Vancouver, Seattle and Portland before she took her show to Minneapolis, Chicago, Toronto, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington, D.C, Brooklyn, Raleigh, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Denver, Phoenix and Los Angeles in November.
It's been a big year for Tiffany Young. It can be recalled that in March, she took home the award for Best Solo Breakout Star at the iHeart Radio Music Awards, making history as the first-ever Korean female to win the accolade.
During her speech, Tiffany shared her pride at representing Asian American women in music and paid homage to her Kpop roots for opening up doors of opportunity for her. She also thanked fans for their support and promised to work even harder.
Of her EP, Lips on Lips, she said that the song sought to represent every type of human being. She said the song sought to celebrate individuality and that it was a message that she always wanted to tell herself, Asam News reported.
