What are the chances Queen Elizabeth will honor Meghan Markle and Prince Harry this Christmas? An expert is certain that Her Majesty will mention the Sussex family in her upcoming Christmas speech, which will be televised on Dec. 25.
According to Richard Fitzwilliams, one of the highlights of the royal family is the birth of Archie Harrison, the first-born child of Prince Harry and Meghan. The royal commentator said that he is sure Her Majesty will congratulate the Sussex royals for Archie's arrival in her speech.
Fitzwilliams also said that Queen Elizabeth would not mention her controversial son, Prince Andrew, by name in her speech. However, the bulk of her message will be about the season of giving thanks, and her Christian faith will inspire unity and her message.
Queen Elizabeth personally writes what she has to say in her Christmas message, unlike the speeches she gives during the Opening of the Parliament. The Queen's Speech for Christmas is always aired at 3:00 p.m. GMT across the United Kingdom's main TV networks.
However, this is pre-recorded at the Queen's house in Buckingham Palace since the royal family is spending the holidays in Sandringham. The Queen travels to this estate on the last Thursday of the month.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan were not at Queen Elizabeth's annual reception for the high-ranking officials of the government. Over 1,000 guests were at the Buckingham Palace on Wednesday, Dec. 11, without the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Prince Harry and Meghan have been in the United States since the American holiday of Thanksgiving to celebrate with Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland. The Sussex family is presumed to be staying stateside until Christmas, which will be Archie's first.
They announced their plans to go to the United States for the holidays in early November. The Queen gave them the permission to skip the Christmas celebrations with the royal family in Sandringham.
While on a holiday abroad, Meghan is reportedly still working on the Sussex Royal Foundation. According to The Telegraph, she has been meeting and tapping people to help her launch the charity in the U.S.
A source, however, clarified and belied the earlier reports that Meghan is on a working break in the U.S. The source told Bazaar that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with Archie, are very much taking their time off and are not working on anything for their foundation.
