The result of the most recent tug of war challenge between the Tesla Model X and the Ford F-150 Raptor is reportedly hinting on a potential rematch between the Tesla Cybertruck and the Ford F-150. The rematch has been the favorite subject among car enthusiasts following Ford's claim that the first tug of war was not fair. Tesla CEO Elon Musk agreed to do the challenge once again, but Ford eventually backed out calling the idea, 'absurd.'
It seems that during the first tug of war match between the Tesla Cybertruck and the Ford F-150, Tesla used the rear-wheel-drive version of the F-150. In a Twitter exchange between Musk and notable scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson, the Tesla CEO agreed to do the challenge one more time and even suggested that both trucks must be loaded during the rematch.
Musk agreed to bring Ford on-board. But, just when everybody was so hyped about the rematch, a Ford executive said the company is not doing any rematch. However, regardless if Ford will participate or not in the upcoming tug of war challenge rematch, Musk is planning to redo the challenge.
The forthcoming rematch was gathering so much hype that even oddsmakers were giving it their attention. Betting started, and Tesla Cybertruck was even the underdog in the betting. More than a week later, another tug of war challenge happened, this time not between Cybertruck and F-150 but between Tesla Model X and Ford F-150 Raptor.
The challenge, however, was not initiated by Tesla or by Ford but by two YouTubers who decided to create their own tug of war challenge between vehicles from both automakers. Interestingly, the YouTubers did it better than Tesla, according to Electrek, and utilized an all-wheel-drive Ford F-150 Raptor, which is the performance version of the best-selling pickup in the US.
Since they could not get the Cybertruck, they decided to use the Tesla Model X P100D. This model is the most powerful version of the electric vehicle maker's electric SUV. The idea is that if the Tesla Model X P100D can make a quick work of the Ford F-150 Raptor, will Ford have a chance against the Tesla Cybertruck?
