It is clear by now that Melanie Trump has a different personality as First Lady of The United States. She also has a different approach to how she will function while living at the White House. Author and CNN correspondent Kate Bennett explained why.

In her new book, Free, Melania: The Unauthorized Biography, Bennett said Melanie has a "unique" quality that makes her modern first lady and different from her predecessors. The former First Ladies of the country have defined personality to the public.

For instance, President George H. W. Bush's wife, Barbara, has been very vocal about her views, but she is beloved for her "grandmotherly persona." Hillary Clinton was privately engaged in cultural improvements, but has been called a "meddler in West Wing policy."

Michelle Obama was not a fan of rules and restrictions of the White House, but she has been viewed as a "friendly" FLOTUS. Melania Trump, on the other hand, remained a mystery to many after almost three years living at the White House.

Bennet added Melania does things that the past First Ladies don't. She said what makes Melania "unique to a modern first lady" is that she was not defined as a spouse who goes or agrees with the president all the time.

FLOTUS has proven on many occasions that she voice out her own opinion. She tweets or releases statement on her own without the president's approval and sometimes even direct opposition to what POTUS's had said. Melania also takes her motorcades and cancels a joint trip with her husband in a moment notice.

According to Bennet, Mrs. Trump had a reluctant entrance to public life. Melania needs to fend for herself as she keeps a low profile while her husband is running the country.

"The secret to Melania Trump's confidence and to her survival as the first lady?" She doesn't care what anyone thinks about her... just does what she wants to do," she wrote.

Melania has been supporting Be Best campaign for children's welfare, which includes waging war against the opioid epidemic and cyberbullying. She has been silently working in the campaign for the last three years.

Meanwhile, Bennet also tackled in her book Melania's relationship with Trump's daughter, Ivanka. The two shared a cordial relationship, but that changed when the family moved to the White House. According to Bennet, the relationship changed from "comfortable, if not warm, alliance" to "cordial, not close."
