Next year's Spring Festival 2020 is expected to see around 79 million trips to be made domestically as more Chinese citizens will move about town and cities in the country. The number of trips is an 8.4 percent hike from the previous festivities.

According to Xinhua, the Civil Aviation Administration of China noted that it is also expecting that the number of flights will exceed daily average rates during several peak days during the seven-day festival.

The China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. also said that railway trips are expected to hit a record high this year. Around 440 railway passengers are projected to be active in travels during the holidays.

Despite the expected surge in increased domestic travels during the Spring Festival week, the administration revealed that reservations to Taiwan, Macau, and Hong Kong dropped by a significant 18.9 percent.

The administration also noted that among the busiest countries that will see a surge in Chinese tourists for next year's festivities are South Korea, Japan, and Thailand. France will also see an influx in Chinese travelers during the week-long festival.

Probably the biggest takeaway in the administration's s report is the prediction that ticket reservations between China maThe inland and the United States will most likely see a decline next year.

The world is watching progress in the China-U.S. trade dispute and some industry experts noted that the issue will play a role in defining how Chinese travelers will set up their trips to the west next year.

On the other hand, the administration noted that preparations are well underway to ensure that the needs of passengers will be fulfilled as necessary. Among the aspects of travel that the administration is focused on for Spring Festival 2020 are as follows: weather monitoring improved electronic passes for better access, and faster Wi-Fi connections.

As earlier reported, Trip.com Group said in a report this week that more Chinese tourists are expected to travel abroad during the holidays. As of Thursday, Chinese travelers booked in 419 cities across 100 regions around the world.

Trip.com Group's tourist data research center representative, Peng Liang, noted that Chinese travelers now have higher living standards, which gives them the capacity to book for overseas travels during long holidays such as the Spring Festival.

Australia and New Zealand topped the list of countries that Chinese tourists booked their travels for, as well as the UAE, Great Britain, France, Russia, Spain, and Italy.

Spring Festival 2020 kicks off January 24 and is expected to showcase China's rich culture and traditions to grand festivities and events.
