Two years ago, Ivana Trump and Melania Trump reportedly had a "fallout" after President Donald Trump's first wife spoke of negative things toward the official First Lady of the United States. While it was said that the two women shared a "friendship" before entering the White House, this did not stop Ivana from voicing out her thoughts.
According to BBC News, the former wife of Donald Trump had a sit-down interview with ABC's Good Morning America. Although it was supposed to be a "promotional" segment for Ivana's memoir, Raising Trump, a lot of people were surprised by her daring statements.
As reported, Ivana Trump claimed that she is the "real" First Lady. This is because she is the first wife of the U.S. President.
Aside from the technicalities of the title, Ivana went on to insinuate that Melania Trump does not want to live in Washington. But, while these supposed revelations already surprised the viewers, Ivana continued to expose several details about her links with Donald Trump.
As it happened, she blatantly revealed that she has a "private" direct line to her former husband. However, she is not fond of using this inside the White House as it may provoke "jealousy," especially on Melania Trump's part.
The First Lady did not respond to any of Ivana Trump's claims. However, her spokesperson, Stephani Grisham, released a statement about the recent interview.
As per Daily Express, Stephani Grisham deemed Ivana's interview as "attention-seeking" and "self-serving noise." She also dismissed the notion that Melania Trump does not want to live in Washington. In the end, though, it was explained as well how the First Lady intends to use her title and role.
Quite obviously, fans and supporters of both camps shared their own opinions and thoughts about the issue. While the majority of the netizens seemed to defend Melania's side, many individuals were certain that the First Lady did not even care at all about Ivana Trump's statements.
As per others' assertions, the official statement given by Stephani Grisham was not of Melania's doing. It is likely that her spokesperson felt the need to speak on behalf of the First Lady and the White House.
Today, several publications released the narrative again because it is believed that this has something to do with Ivana's daughter, the First Daughter, Ivanka Trump. As it appears, many sources are claiming that there is an apparent "tension" between Melania and Ivanka because of their roles inside the White House.
