It has been weeks now since Prince Andrew officially announced that he is stepping down from royal duties. This comes after the infamous and controversial affiliation with the late Jeffrey Epstein resurfaced. While the public and the press continue to criticize the Duke of York, his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, recently spoke about the issue.

As per reports, the Duchess of York "defended" her ex-husband amid all the backlash. She finally broke her silence about the matter since it was revealed things have become truly difficult for her everyone in the family, especially their kids, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

According to Express UK, the Duchess of York seemingly wants the ongoing speculations and allegations about Prince Andrew's ties with Jeffrey Epstein's trafficking transactions to be "dismissed" as nonsense. She shared that the duke has already gone through "enormous pain" because of all these nonsense matters.

Aside from Prince Andrew's struggles, Sarah Ferguson also revealed that it was tough for everyone, including especially her and the kids. However, while probably hoping to get everyone's sympathy toward the Duke of York, as well as the whole York family, she was instead slammed by several royal fans and experts.

Royal correspondent, Dawn Neesom shared her thoughts about Sarah Ferguson's interview as per the publication. Based on statements, she thought of it as "appalling" considering that the duchess is suggesting for everyone to "dismiss" the whole thing as trivial. She also described the whole interview as "most annoying," which was worse than "the Meghan Markle thing."

The co-panelists of Dawn Neesom later followed her and shared their similar perspectives about the interview in question. As per the royal expert, Dan Wootton, it was "extraordinary" given that Sarah Ferguson did not acknowledge the victims of the Jeffrey Epstein case, and yet she acknowledges the struggles of Prince Andrew.

Despite all the criticisms the duchess has received after her making her statements known, Daily Mail revealed that Sarah Ferguson also shared in another interview that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are the ones who have been suffering the most. The duchess pointed out, though, that when she is talking about her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, she means their "family," as a whole.

She continued to state that the Duke of York has been nothing but, an "incredible man" for what he has done for Britain. He is the "best man" I know, Sarah Ferguson concluded.
