The rumor that Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have adopted a two-year-old orphan has resurfaced again. New reports indicate that the couple is planning to make the child a permanent member of the family after the new year.
According to Globe, Stefani and Shelton are excited to have a new member of their family and they are planning to finish the adoption process by early next year. The outlet, however, did not give much information on how the couple met the child.
The site's source claimed the couple opted to adopt over surrogacy after Stefani tried IVF treatments but did not succeed. At first, Gwen and Blake are reportedly nervous that the children of the No Doubt singer might not be open to the idea of adoption.
The couple is reportedly ready to reject it as well if Gwen's kids would oppose it. However, it turned out that Stefani's kids were "overjoyed" and approved of the adoption.
Gossip Cop, however, debunked the story. The site pointed out that it was an old story and Stefani's spokesperson already denied the rumor when it first came out in 2018. The singer's camp clarified that The Voice co-stars have no plans to adopt.
The rumors about Gwen adopting a child first emerged in March 2017. At the time, it was reported that Gwen is planning to take a baby girl without Blake's knowledge. Stefani's rep busted the rumor.
Then in May 2018, it was reported that the couple had a chat about having a baby on their own. The talk allegedly happened on Mother's Day as it reminded the "God's Country" crooner that he doesn't have kids of his own. At the time, Gwen's rep denied the rumor.
Stefani has three sons with ex-husband, Bush lead singer and guitarist Gavin Rossdale. The "Make Me Like You" singer and Blake Shelton have started dating in November 2015 after they split from their respective partners. Gwen broke up with Rossdale while Shelton and Miranda Lambert announced their divorce in July 2015.
Reports indicate that The Voice judges recently moved in at their newly purchased home in Los Angeles. Gwen's sons have also moved in with them. The family is reportedly happier than ever in their new home as Shelton is assuming the role of a second father figure to Gwen's kids.
Since the couple has moved in, their fans are now waiting for their engagement or wedding announcement. Back in June, Blake addressed the persistent wedding rumors in an interview. The singer said he and Gwen are very happy about what they have at the moment and assured their fans that they won't be reading their wedding announcement in tabloids.
