The Mavericks' ongoing campaign in the NBA appeared to have all the elements to win. There is the hot and explosive Luka Doncic and paired with Kristaps Porzingis; the duo has been firing up the surging Dallas. The team, however, wants another reliable big man and on the radar is the Pistons' Andre Drummond.

Currently, the Mavericks are No. 3 in the West after chalking up 17 wins so far. There is no denying Dallas will collect more victories with Doncic and Porzingis leading the way. The team is looking at the possibility of not only making the playoffs but also of advancing to the Finals.

Doncic and Porzingis are doing what is expected of them, but to ensure that Dallas's title contention stands on solid ground, the team is planning to bring another big man. Preferably a big name but more importantly, one that can do the work, Fadeaway World said in a report.

On that, one obvious target would be Detroit's Drummond, who is the perfect fit for the requirements by the Mavericks and specified as "a big physical presence to put beside Porzingis."

Drummond joining up with Dallas has been pre-planned. He'll do what he does best patrolling the paint.

"Their game plan is clear: to bolster their size, rebounding, and defense around the rim. In those categories, they are right to consider ... Drummond," per the same report, adding the Pistons big man is at the moment among the best in the league.

However, it will not be easy shopping for the Mavericks. First, it must be established that Detroit will want to hear trade proposals that involve Drummond. And if the Pistons will at least sit down for a talk, what Dallas can offer in exchange.

To be sure, the Pistons will view any move on Drummond as a big deal in the making, and for the process to even start rolling, there something tempting set on the table.

Fansided said a good package that the Pistons can have a hard look at should involve Maxi Kleber, Justin Jackson, and Tim Hardaway, Jr. Dallas dangling the three with the likelihood of Detroit still asking for a second-round pick will make for an attractive offer.

"This way Detroit is still getting a return of a potential filler at the center position, and a slowly developing player in Jackson," the report said.

It might look like Dallas is ceding considerable ground to get a hold on Drummond, but the reality is the big man is a hot commodity. Detroit can look elsewhere and surely get a similar or better deal, so the Mavericks have little choice but to make the offer as irresistible as possible.
