Jennifer Aniston is most likely to attend the upcoming Golden Globe Awards in January 2020 but she may not bring a date with her. Rumors have it that the Friends actress is bringing her ex-husband Justin Theroux at the awards night and also planning to ask her other ex, Brad Pitt, to double date with them with Alia Shawkat.
Aniston and Pitt are expected to attend the Golden Globes as they are both received nominations from the award-giving body. Jen got a nod for her role on The Morning Show, while Brad scored a nomination for Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
According to Woman's Day, Aniston's plan is to parade their romantic interests at the red carpet in order to dismiss the rumors that she and Brad are back together. The publication cited a source as saying Aniston suggested to Pitt to bring Shawkat as his date, while she would ask Theroux to be her date.
"She's telling pals it could be an opportunity for her and Justin to continue working towards their own reunion," the source said.
Gossip Cop busted the story for many reasons. While it is true that Aniston and Pitt could reunite at the Golden Globe, they may not come to the event on a double date in order to dismiss any romance rumor. The site pointed out that although Aniston and Theroux remain as friends since their split in 2018, they are not rekindling their romance.
As for Brad Pitt, he had rebuilt his friendship with Aniston after his split from Angelina Jolie. Jen invited the actor on her 50th birthday earlier this year and they have been exchanging messages and calls since then but it never goes beyond that.
Pitt also has no reason to invite Arrested Development actress Alia Shawkat to come with him at the Golden Globe as he is not dating her or anyone else. The Ad Astra has spoken out recently about his dating status and denied that he is currently dating somebody.
Aside from Aniston and Shawkat, Pitt had been rumored dating Charlize Theron, MIT professor Neri Oxman, and jewelry designer Sat Hari Khalsa. In New York Times' "The Great Performers" issue, Pitt stressed that none of the dating rumors about him are true. The actor added that he is not updated on the rumors about him as he had stopped reading tabloids since 2004.
