With all the scrutinies and criticisms she is going through, Meghan Markle is now dubbed as the most unfairly treated person in the U.K. this 2019. In a survey conducted by PlayOJO, 50 percent of the participants believed that the Duchess of Sussex had a bad year.
Over 2,000 people voted for Prince Harry's wife as the person who has the most un-fairest year. Topping the top five, she was followed by Ant McPartlin, The Queen, Greta Thunberg, and Alex Hollywood.
"We're keen to re-address the 2019 balance and not only acknowledge Meghan Markle's tumultuous year, but offer her some respite," PlayOJO spokesperson said, via Marie Claire. "Whatever you think of her, the majority of us Brits clearly agree on one thing - she's had a pretty tough year."
Since her relationship with Prince Harry became public, Meghan Markle started to be a victim of criticisms. She is often in the headlines for the wrong reasons, and everyone guards her every move. Hence, it is no surprise that she tops this year's poll.
The online casino's spokesperson added that treating their players fairly is an integral part of their business. As they know how it feels to be poorly treated in the industry that they are in, they asked the participants how they could make Meghan Markle's life fairer if they would have a chance. Some said that they would give her some downtime, while others suggested giving her a drink.
In an emotional interview with ITV in South Africa for the documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, Meghan Markle admitted how hard her life had become since she joined the royal family upon her marriage to Prince Harry last year. The former actress tried her best to hold back her tears as she told the host, Tom Bradby, that she's "not OK" and the past year had been "really challenging" for her, per Mirror Online.
At the time, Meghan Markle was pregnant, which made things more difficult as she found herself "really vulnerable." Things got tougher when she gave birth to baby Archie earlier this year.
Aside from having a newborn baby, she also found the criticisms hard to deal with for being a woman. Everything got mixed up as she was trying to be a new mom, a newlywed, and a new duchess.
So when Bradby asked Meghan Markle how she was doing at the time, she thanked the host for asking her because "not many people" checked if she was OK. She then said that what she was going through behind the scenes was a "very real thing."
