Former husband and wife Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston had reunited as friends a long time ago. They've been friends since they ended their respective marriages but it doesn't mean they are back together.
Rumors have it that the former lovers will attend the 2020 Golden Globe Awards together or will do a double date with their respective partners. Woman's Day claimed Aniston is planning to bring her former husband Justin Theroux and will also ask ex-hubby Brad Pitt to bring rumored girlfriend Alia Shawkat to be his date for the night.
The outlet alleged that Jen is making a plan to dismiss once and for all the rumors that she and Pitt are dating again. The Friends actress allegedly wants to prove that her current relationship with the Once Upon A Time in Hollywood actor is purely platonic.
"She wants to use the opportunity to prove that while they've rebuilt their relationship, it's strictly platonic," the source said.
The story, however, has proven to be false. Sources close to Aniston denied that she will attend the Golden Globe with either Theroux or Pitt.
Jen and The Spy Who Dumped Me actor sparked new dating rumors after they spent Thanksgiving together along with their friends. While it's true that the two remain friends after their split in 2018, they were not back together as lovers.
As for Pitt, he is not dating Shawkat. There were earlier rumors that Brad is dating the Arrested Development actress after they were spotted together at an art gallery in Los Angeles and at Kanye West's Nebuchadnezzar opera at the Hollywood Bowl.
An insider revealed to People that the Ad Astra actor is determined to keep his friends as friend and Shawkat is one of his close pals. Brad also classified in an interview with New York Times magazine's "The Great Performers" issue that he is not dating anyone at the moment. Pitt said he hasn't back in the dating game since he split from Angelina Jolie.
Aniston and Pitt may not come together at the 2020 Golden Globes but they might still see each other at the event. They are expected to attend the awarding ceremony as they both received nominations from the award-giving body.
Jen is nominated for her role as Alex in the TV series The Morning Show. Pitt, on the other hand, grabbed a nod for his role in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
