Power season 6 is set to return earlier next year on Starz. A lot of things happened in the midseason finale, and some of the questions will be answered when the series comes back. In particular, Ghost will be the center of the story as he was shot and his fate is still up in the air right now.
Power season 6 midseason finale left a huge cliffhanger, wherein James "Ghost" St Patrick (Omari Hardwick) was shot in the chest. There are a lot of possible suspects as to who shot him, including Rashad Tate (Larenz Tate), Tasha St Patrick (Naturi Naughton), Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora), Tariq St Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr), ), Paz Valdes (Elizabeth Rodriguez), and Andre Coleman (Rotimi Akinosho).
But, some speculated none of them was the suspect and believed it was Cooper Saxe (Shane Johnson) who shot Ghost. One of the cast members may have also hinted he's likely the one who pulled the trigger. Saxe wanted to lock up James St Patrick for a long time now because he believes he's the drug kingpin Ghost, which viewers already know that he really is.
However, his attempts to send him in prison have been thwarted always. But in the midseason finale of Power season 6, it seems like Saxe lost everything and everyone around him, and he's now getting ready to seek revenge. He was seen heading toward Truth night club -- determined to take down Ghost and ruin his life.
Now, it seems like one of the series stars confirmed it was indeed Saxe who pulled the trigger. Joseph Sikora, who played Tommy, shared Power season 6 trailer on his Instagram and Shane Johnson (Saxe) commented on the post. The latter said: "My brother, you're on your game - always an inspiration."
Then, Sikora replied saying that it was Johnson's character shot Ghost. The comment fuelled further speculations, with many believing this is a major hint about the suspect. Yet, others think the actor is just probably joking and Saxe isn't the one who pulled the trigger. The only hint is that showrunner Courtney Kemp teased Ghost was shot with Angela's gun -- his ex-lover.
Right now, however, it's still unknown as to who shot him. Yet, some think Ghost wasn't really shot and he just hired a hitman to fake his death. He's been trying to leave and escape for a while now. He probably wants to take some break and it would only be possible if he dies in the eyes of the public. Also, other people are after Ghost, so he wants to leave without causing further damage.
Power season 6 will return on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020, on Starz.
