It is critical for Paul Pogba to work with Manchester United and give his best for the club to find success again. This was the appeal made by United icon Gary Neville, who called on the Frenchman to remain at Old Trafford and there achieve his dream of winning team titles and personal honors.

Neville also called on the United board to make the move that will convince Pogba and other quality players that they are on the side of a winning team. A good start is the signing of new players that will boost the English, which has been the declared intention by team manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Repeatedly, Solskjaer has stated that he wants to beef up the club roster and sign up players that will contribute to the scoring firepower of United. One rumored immediate hiring of the Norwegian manager is that of Erling Haaland, but no confirmation has been provided on the subject.

On hiring matters, Metro said Neville has a reminder shared with the United coach. The former captain for the Red Devils advised: "Bring in players who are at the top of their game who have their best years in front of them but are not 21 or 22 anymore, maybe 24, 25, 26."

As for Pogba, Neville said he understood where the France international is coming from.

"The only thing I would say is that Paul Pogba is extremely ambitious, I think he wants to win trophies, I think he sees this as being the peak years of his career and he wants to play at a club that can actually challenge," Neville said.

However, it is not looking good that somebody like Pogba is talking publicly of a desire to jump to another team. To make this stop, United will need to make good on the plan to rebuild a championship-caliber team.

United will need to convince Pogba, arguably the club's best player at the moment, that he is on the winning side, Neville explained.

It would help United's game plan as well not to expect too much and too soon from the World Cup winner, according to former Arsenal striker Alan Smith. He reminded that Pogba is fresh more than two months of forced vacation, and getting him back to active duty has to implemented gradually.

For the time being, Smith suggested that Solskjaer sticks with the central midfielders he has been using in Pogba's absence, which is keeping Fred and Scott McTominay on the roles that saw them flourishing in the past games.

"That central midfield has been playing as well as it has ever has this season really, with Fred and McTominay I think. They've developed a good partnership in the last few games," the Gunners icon was reported by Express as saying.
