BTS has gotten a lot of awards throughout the years of the group’s existence. RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have received major awards, and even broke a lot of records for receiving these awards.
However, one specific award is quite different as the BTS boys themselves are giving it to the member that they randomly picked. Jimin got Suga and it is during this award ceremony that he revealed that the rapper is too normal for his taste.
In BTS’s 2020 Season’s Greetings, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook took turns to give each other an award for their accomplishment in 2019. It started amazing when RM awarded Jungkook “The New, Super, Rising, Ultra, Great, Mega, Completely Emperor, Best, Dope, SSW Award” for writing original songs. He is so proud and impressed with the golden maknae’s talent that he pressured him to finally release the mixtape that he’s been working on for quite a while.
Jin then presented J-Hope “The Next Leader Award,” highlighting his role as the second leader of BTS. “This member has taken care of other members’ mental well-being and maintained the team’s overall positive vibe. This award is in recognition of your work in always providing stability for the other members,” Jin shared.
Things were going smoothly until it was Jimin’s turn. Nobody expected that he would do something different at the time. Suga even stood there and looking all ready to hear and receive his award from Jimin.
But after spending a lot of years living with Jin, Jimin subconsciously channeled his inner Jin by doing some wordplay, which the oldest member of BTS is famously known for, when presenting the award to Suga.
The Korean word “sang” means award, and Jimin added “jeong” before it to create the word “jeong sang,” which means “normal.” And that’s Suga’s award — the “Normal Award.”
All the BTS boys, including Suga, laughed with Jimin’s wordplay. Everyone found the moment so hilarious that V even fell off his stool.
Although the rapper appeared to be taken aback by the award that he received, he didn’t really argue with Jimin since he knew that he was right. The truth is that Suga likes normal things.
While the rest of the BTS boys are mostly hyper and playful, Suga would rather stay still or sleep. If that isn’t a normal habit, then we don’t know what is.
