Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt showed a united front in 2005 New Year amidst rumors of the actor's affairs with Angelina Jolie. They were very sweet during their vacation in the Caribbean. A week later, the couple announced that they are divorcing each other.
The world was shocked. Many thought the couple has huddled the cheating scandal of Pitt and Jolie as they were seen very sweet to each other while enjoying the holiday with Aniston's friend and Friends co-star, Courteney Cox and her then-husband David Arquette.
Then on January 7, 2005, Pitt and Aniston issued a joint statement announcing their separation. The Hollywood stars said their decision was a result of much consideration and stressed that will remain as friends.
It was revealed that the two have decided to part ways before they even book their trip to the Caribbean. There were also reports that Pitt came clean to his wife about his feelings for his Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star. Apparently, this left the Friends actress furious and threw her husband out of their home.
Aniston filed for divorce in March 2005 citing irreconcilable differences. Shortly after, the Troy actor was spotted spending time with Jolie and the actress' then three-year-old adopted son Maddox on a beach in Kenya. In an interview, Aniston confessed that the world was shocked, and she was shocked when photos of Brad and Angie together surfaced.
Then Jolie was rumored to be pregnant with Pitt's child. In a Vanity Fair interview with Jen in 2006, the actress was asked about Jolie's rumored pregnancy. According to Vanity Fair's Leslie Bennetts, the actress cried and was unable to speak when asked about the rumored pregnancy of the Maleficent actress.

Us Weekly cited a source as saying the former couple has decided to bury the past and moved on from his cheating scandal with Jolie. The two are expected to see reuniting in the upcoming Golden Globe Awards next month.
