The Blacklist season 7 is currently on its midseason break and there's still one major question looming this season: Who is Raymond Reddington? That question is one of the mysteries within the series, and while it may not be answered in the near future, there were theories and speculations regarding the real identity of the character.

According to CarterMatt, one of the possible theories in The Blacklist season 7 is that related to siblings. The outlet noted Red might be Katarina Rostova's siblings, but this speculation is a tricky one since he kissed her at the end of the previous season. It's possible Katrina isn't aware Red is her sibling, but this theory would be implausible and should be explored well.

Ilya Koslov is another candidate being Red's sibling. This theory is very likely, especially since we've seen these two communicating as if they had a long-term relationship. But although this theory is plausible, why their personal relationship wasn't mentioned in some of their private conversations? Still, some believed Ilya and Red are somehow related, if not siblings.

Other theories suggest that Alexander Kirk is Red's sibling, as some think the latter whispered to Alexander about them being related. While that's very likely, CarterMatt noted this might be the hardest theory for different reasons. For instance, it does not feel sensible for Red being related to Kirk -- unless they will find a way to bring him back.

Meanwhile, executive producers Jon Bokenkamp and John Eisendrath recently discussed the "who is Red" mystery in The Blacklist season 7. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Eisendrath Liz is interested to find out who is Red and the truth about him. Yet, things wouldn't be easy for her, as it can be recalled Katrina tortured him just to tell the truth but he wouldn't tell her what she wanted to know.

Thus, it would be hard for Liz to find out who Red is. But then, she has an incredibly powerful ally now, so she might get the answer that she wants at some point. As for what else is coming in The Blacklist season 7, Bokenkamp said that what Katarina is after will unlock everything. There will be big clues laid out there and starting to fall into place, adding Katarina is close to the truth and it's "really exciting."

The Blacklist season 7 is set to come back in 2020.
