It's not just fans of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle who adored their family Christmas card, which was released as a .gif for social media. Even Prince William and Kate Middleton apparently loved the image.
According to People, Prince William and Kate signified their approval for Prince Harry and Meghan's Christmas image through their Twitter account, Kensington Palace. Apparently, the official account hit the like button for the Sussex Christmas card post shared by The Queen's Commonwealth Trust.
Prince Harry and Meghan's black and white photo featured their only child, seven-month-old Archie Harrison, to the front and center. Archie was looking so adorably in front of the camera while his parents smiled at the background, behind a large Christmas tree.
The image was taken by actress Janina Gavankar, who is one of Meghan's closest friends. People reported that the women's friendship go way back and Gavankar was at the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex last May 2018. She also shared some exclusive shots of the couple during their nuptials.
Meanwhile, Prince William and Kate's family Christmas card was also shared online by one of its recipients. The Cambridge family opted for a vintage photo, where Prince William sat on a motorbike and was surrounded by his kids and his wife. They wore matching blue-shaded clothes.
On Christmas Day, Kensington Palace also released a black and white photo of the Cambridge kids with Prince William kissing his youngest, Prince Louis. Kate was not included in the picture as she was behind the camera.
Prince Harry and Meghan, however, have yet to "like" the said post on social media. The two families are spending Christmas apart as Prince Harry, Meghan and Archie are currently in North America for the holidays.
Meanwhile, a body language expert analyzed the key differences between the Christmas cards shared by these two royal families. Judi James said that Prince William and Kate's choice was more traditional while Prince Harry and Meghan was more modern and would likely pop out in a glossy magazine.
James also said that Prince Harry and Meghan's poses mirrored each other. Their gaze towards their son also reflected the tight affection this family has for each other.
Prince William and Kate's retro photo, on the other hand, showed that the Duke of Cambridge is the center of the family. James said that it is no wonder this shot ended up at the Queen's desk when she said her speech for Christmas Day while Prince Harry and Meghan's photo was missing.
