First Lady Melania Trump often receives harsh comments from the critics of the Trump administration. The attacks could be for her role in the White House and just being the wife of President Donald Trump. Presidential son Donald Trump Jr. revealed why some netizens are being hard on his step mother.

Don Jr. said the attacks on FLOTUS is always "with a vengeance" as these are intended to hurt his father. In an interview with author Doug Wead for his new book, titled Inside Trump's White House: The Real Story of His Presidency, Donald Jr. said since his father's detractors can't break him, they are going after Melania.

"It is shades of the old movie plot in which the villain realises that he can't break the hero so he turns his wrath on the hero's family," he said.

He added that critics of the Trump administration have been creating absurd stories such as FLOTUS is being held captive at the White House. Others blatantly telling Melania to denounce her husband that they would go easy on her.

Don Jr. said this tactic wouldn't work with his father and the First Lady. He said the couple has a very good relationship and suggested that no one can break them apart.

Melania has been receiving backlash recently after she did not stand up for Greta Thunberg against the attack of the president when the young climate activist won the Time's Person of the Year. Some netizens mocked FLOTUS and her Be Best anti-bullying campaign as she can't defend Greta on her husband's attack.

Meanwhile, Melania Trump is not the only one in the family that is being slammed by netizens for their actions. Donald Trump Jr. is also in hot water for hunting and killing an endangered Mongolian sheep.

In a letter to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Center for Biological Diversity asked the agency to investigate whether or not  Trump Jr. imported parts of the argali sheep back into the U.S. The agency admitted that they received a letter from the conservation group but said there is no basis for them to look further into this allegation.

Apparently, the hunting trip occurred in August but according to ProPublica′s report, Trump Jr. received the permit on September 2, after he left the region following the hunt. There were also allegations that the president's son also met with Mongolia's president, Khaltmaagiin Battuiga, before he left the country for his hunting trip.

Trump Jr. has been accused to have gotten special treatment by the Mongolian government because of his father. A spokesperson for Trump Jr. denied any wrongdoing, saying the presidential son bought the hunting trip at a National Rifle Association raffle in 2015, before his father launched his presidential campaign.
