Meghan Markle and Prince Harry surprised everyone with their unique Christmas card. Compared to Kate Middleton and Prince William's traditional snap, the Sussexes injected modernity to the annual royal family tradition. But aside from the contemporaneousness, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex also showed they have an equal relationship than that of the Cambridges.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry released a black-and-white photo for Christmas. They were sitting on the ground in front of a Christmas tree while their kid, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, was at the center.

The snap looked casual compared to Kate Middleton and Prince William's snap, in which they were seen sitting on a vintage motorcycle. The Duchess of Cambridge was standing beside her husband, while their kids were also next to them.

A body language expert told Mirror Online that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's photo showed their tight affection, sitting on the floor in mirrored poses. The way they looked at their son also displayed their love for one another. Instead of looking straightly to the camera, their eyes were on a curious Archie, who was heading to explore the lens.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's pose showed they have an equal relatioinship, while Prince William seemed to be the center of their family. Hence, the family of three's first Christmas photo had a different style compared to the Cambridges.

James added that the difference in their photos also showed how different the two royal couples were. Evidently, Kate Middleton and Prince William's card was traditional, while Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's snap was much more modern that would fit the cover of a glossy, high-class magazine.

The expert described the future king and queen consort's photograph as retro. Although it started to look like a cool idea to use a classic Steve McQueen style pose on the retro motorcycle, the family's pose as a team displayed "emphatically traditional" in a lot of ways, per Express.

From the slightly bleached, 1950s style coloring to the way Prince William posed, sitting in a relaxed macho splay while Kate Middleton stood awkwardly beside her, everything looked so retro. Hence, it was no surprise that Queen Elizabeth II chose to display their photo on her desk when she delivered her annual speech, while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's snap was nowhere to be seen.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spent Thanksgiving and Christmas with former actress' mother, Doria Ragland, in the United States. Prince William and Kate Middleton, on the other hand, joined the traditional Christmas walk, together with Prince George and Princess Charlotte for the first time.
