Before Meghan Markle gave birth to Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor in May, internet trolls accused the Duchess of Sussex of faking her pregnancy to get royal money. Months have passed, and the kid is now seven months old, the claims once again surfaced on Twitter on Christmas Day.
A series of tweets accused the former actress of using a moon bump to fake her pregnancy. Twitter user @CABRAXAS10 said that Prince Harry's wife couldn't get pregnant, so she had to pretend she was heavy with a child to get money.
Allegedly, she would never get royal money because of a prenuptial or Prince Harry's money because he is not rich. Hence, the only way she could get cash was from a baby who would be funded by the Palace.
Another Twitter user added that Meghan Markle was not aware of the "out of body" law that precluded children born via a surrogate from the line of succession. There were accusations that she used a surrogate to have a child because she couldn't do so.
However, according to Fox News, Meghan Markle's baby shower was not funded by the taxpayer money. She also gave birth to a real baby in May, and there was a certificate to prove it.
The former Suits star gave birth to baby Archie on May 6 at Portland Hospital in central London. Due to the lack of information and Prince Harry's desire to welcome their first child with as much privacy as possible, there were speculations that she delivered the kid at their home in Frogmore Cottage.
According to Today, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Meghan Markle gave birth at a hospital. Daily Mail reported Rebecca English got a hold of baby Archie's birth certificate, in which Portland Hospital was listed as his birth of place and not at their Frogmore Cottage home.
After his birth, baby Archie visited his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. He was also introduced to the world after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gave the public a glimpse of their kid in a brief photo-op inside Windsor Castle.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also allowed baby Archie to spend some time with the latter's mother, Doria Ragland. Prince William and Kate Middleton also met their new nephew on the week of his birth. Although this already shut down the rumors about her fake pregnancy earlier this year, the false assumptions continued until today.
