One of the biggest problems of being an international fan of Korean pop bands is that you're never really sure if you're singing their songs right. Most of the lyrics usually end up being lost in translation but that doesn't really stop fans from trying to sing along. Interestingly, a new revelation about BTS' hit tune Boy In Luv may have confirmed that even Korean Army had been singing the wrong lyrics all this time. The best thing is, the correct lyrics were confirmed by Bang Shihyuk himself.

The lyrics to Boy In Luv aren't exactly too hard to decipher. The song talks about wanting to be with a girl who is uninterested in being with the singer. However, it looks like the one part of the BTS song that people thought was in English is actually in Korean. Additionally, it would make more sense to be added to the song.

So which part is the misunderstood lyric? It's actually in the first part of the song when BTS seemingly shouts "Fire" before the verse begins. However, they aren't saying "Fire" at all. That line is actually "Oppa-ya," which makes sense with the rest of the song begging to be a girl's Oppa.

The revelation actually comes from another self-proclaimed Army. TXT recently did a cover of Boy In Luv for SBS Gayo Dajeon, which has also attended by BTS. The younger boy group did an amazing job with their cover because they practiced hard on the performance. However, TXT member Taehyun, who is a huge fan of Bangtan Sonyeondan himself, shared that he discovered something interesting about the song.

Taehyun recently took to Weverse where he answered several fan questions. Amazingly, the TXT member told one fan that BTS actually says "Oppa-ya" instead of "Fire" in Boy In Luv.

But how is Taehyun so sure? According to the TXT member, the correct lyric was confirmed by Bang Shihyuk himself, who had helped write the BTS song. Needless to say, we can't argue with Bang PD-nim about this.

Not surprisingly, Army were shocked to find out that a part of Boy In Luv that seemed so easy to understand was actually something else. Some felt that they had been robbed for the past five years.

Boy In Luv was the first single from BTS' second extended play album Skool Luv Affair. It reached the Number 5 spot on the Billboard World Digital Songs in 2014.
