The royal children are not always with their parents during an official family event. There were times that were separated like for instance during the Queen's annual Christmas lunch when Prince George and Princess Charlotte dined in a different room.

The Cambridge family attended the Queen's Christmas lunch earlier this month. Apparently, it is a tradition that the monarch organizes every year before Her Majesty heads to Sandringham for holiday break. The Queen usually invites members of her extended family to Buckingham Palace and it is a very private affair.

The Queen's granddaughter Zara Tindall's husband, Mike Tindall, shared once again some details about the exclusive lunch. In JOE UK's House of Rugby podcast, the former rugby player revealed how the royal children were hauled up in a separate room during royal lunch

"I didn't drink actually, this is the other one, the family lunch there must be about 70 of us there-there are seven tables and the kiddies have their own little one in a different room," he said.

William and Kate's two eldest children were among those in a separate dining room. It means even if they are the third and fourth in the line of succession, and will probably rule the monarch one day, George and Charlotte are still children.

Tindall did not say why the children have to be in a separate room. A different table could be explained since they are using little dining tables. As for the separate room, the Queen perhaps wants the table conversation among adults not to be heard by the little ones.

Last year, Tindall also offered a glimpse of how the royals celebrate the holidays. He said Christmas Day is a little quieter because it is actually a sort of day off to the members of the family. Their big day is Christmas Eve. During this day, everyone sits around to watch the Queen's speech together while sipping a glass of wine.

Meanwhile, Prince George and Princess Charlotte joined the other royal kids at Sandringham to celebrate Christmas with the Queen. This is the first year for the siblings, however, to join the annual Christmas walk after a church service.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's children grabbed attention during the walk for two different reasons. Many netizens noticed that the siblings looked serious but still charming during the walk. George grabbed the headlines for wearing trousers during the event while Charlotte made royal fans stunned with her elegant curtsy to the Queen.

The siblings also greeted well-wishers outside the St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham. They received flowers and gifts including a bright pink inflatable flamingo from a well-wisher in a wheelchair who also hugged the Cambridges' children.
