One of the most talked-about Apple product presumably arriving this year is the iPhone SE 2. The compact and more affordable iPhone model will serve as the successor of the popular iPhone SE. While earlier speculation claimed that the much-awaited smartphone would arrive in the early part of this year, Apple might release a couple of iPhone SE 2 models in various sizes, according to an unconfirmed report from a supply chain which took it from a supposed 'roadmap.'

Apple could launch an iPhone SE 2 with a 4.7-inch display in the early part of this year followed by a 5.5-inch or 6.1-inch later, reports DigiTimes, which apparently received the scoop from Taiwan supply chain insiders. The launch of the second iPhone SE 2 with bigger display might be pushed to as far as 2021, adds the report, but the site did not reveal any explanation for this.

Six iPhone models will arrive this year according to the report, which is one model less than the predicted number earlier shared by TFI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Out of these number, several sites claim that four models will belong to the next generation flagship smartphone series, iPhone 12. The iPhone 12 series is expected to arrive in September based on the release pattern of Apple.

Meanwhile, Apple will officially unveil the iPhone SE 2by the end of Mar. 2020, according to reports. Apple is also working on a bigger version of iPhone SE, which could be the iPhone SE Plus, according to reliable Apple tipster and TFI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. But, the analyst said that it might not arrive until 2021.

Somehow, Kuo's earlier prediction and the report from DigiTimes aligns. At this point, we can only assume that the second iPhone SE 2 model could be the iPhone SE 2 Plus that Kuo was talking about. However, we have no way of knowing for sure.

If the reports are to go by, we have to wait longer for the arrival of the iPhone SE 2 Plus, but the launch of the iPhone SE 2 is just a few months away. The affordable iPhone SE 2 could help boost the sales of Apple, especially in emerging markets where consumers are not into spending a lot for an iPhone, but still want a reasonably affordable starting price. The iPhone SE 2 could also be an interesting strategy for the Cupertino giant to lure consumers into the Apple ecosystem.

It is worth mentioning that these details while exciting are not official. In this case, we recommend taking this with a grain of salt and with skepticism.
