The Cupertino tech juggernaut reportedly offered its iPads at discounted prices in China. The recent price cut is for the entry-level iPad, which the company shared on its official website. Interestingly, the price slash was made without any fanfare or special announcement.
Apple's iPad is now available for a more affordable rate in various third-party offline and online stores in China reports Gizmo China, which notes that the recent price adjustment is quite essential. The iPad that is now on sale is the 10.2-inch 2019 iPad model, which bears the same design as the 2018 model. The device supports the Apple Pencil and offers Touch ID fingerprint recognition software for protection.
The 2019 iPad model currently on sale in China features an 8-megapixel camera. Right now, the 32 GB storage model is available for only 2.499 yuan or around $358. The 128 GB storage variant now retails at 2,999 or around $430. Originally, these models retail for 2,699 and 3,499 yuan or around $387 and $502, respectively.
In other Apple news, recent reports claim that the Cupertino tech juggernaut is planning to enter in the eSports industry through an eSports-centric or gaming-grade Mac. Apple, according to reports from Taiwan, will announce the product at the upcoming WWDC 2020. Additionally, the gaming-grade Mac will retail at $5,000 and will either be an all in one gaming PC or a large screen Mac.
Unfortunately, this is the only detail we have about the rumored eSports-centric Mac. If the recent reports are true, eSports enthusiasts and gamers would be able to get their hands on the gaming-grade device on Jun. 2020. Apple computers are known for their premium quality and advanced technology.
Additionally, these devices are for professional use, although there are some models that may house hardware capable of running demanding video games. In other words, Apple Macs are not designed for gaming. However, the eSports industry is growing at a fast rate, and over the years, it has gained a considerable following.
Since the eSports industry is slowly going mainstream, Apple might have seen a potential industry. The Cupertino might be thinking that it is the right time to get into the industry. The iPhone maker already made its first step into the video gaming world when it introduced the Apple Arcade. Releasing a new set of Apple Macs or Apple premium laptops designed for eSports or gaming might be the next step the company is considering. But, reports about the eSports-centric or gaming-grade Mac are just speculations.
