Super Junior's Kyuhyun and Red Velvet member Joy have been labelmates at SM Entertainment for at least 10 years now but they remain aloof of each other. Their awkward relationship was revealed in the recent episode of tvN's show The Salty Tour.

The two are in Spain to film the show along with other cast members Park Myung Soo, Han Hye Jin, and Lee Yong Jin. In the recent episode, Kyuhyun along with his fellow cast members welcomed Joy at the airport. Then Park Myung Soo, Han Hye Jin, and Lee Yong Jin noticed that the SJ member and Red Velvet singer are not close at all.

Kyuhyun and Joy were asked about their relationship considering they are both under SM Entertainment. The two admitted that they are not close to each other. Kyuhyun revealed that it is hard for him to get close to female juniors.

"I went to his concert. He said 'Thank you for coming even though we're not close,'" Joy replied.

This prompted the cast to all agreed that in the new season of The Salty Tour, their mission is to make Joy and Kyuhyun closer to each other. Kyuhyun then vowed that he and the Red Velvet singer will be BFF by the end of their Spain trip.

Super Junior debuted in 2005 but Kyuhyun officially joined the group the following year. SJ was already a successful K-pop boy group when Joy debuted along with the rest of Red Velvet in 2014.

Meanwhile aside from The Salty Tour, Joy is also set to appear in Happy Together 4 alongside SF9 member Rowoon. She will also do promotions as the new brand model of lifestyle brand Aveda.

Joy will also be busy promoting Red Velvet's new single "Psycho" along with bandmates Irene, Seulgi, and Yeri. Member Wendy will be sitting out the group's activity to recover from the serious injuries she suffered after a bad fall during the 2019 SBS Gayo Daejun rehearsal.

As for Kyuhyun, Super Junior is set to drop their ninth repacked album, Timeless, on January 28. Pre-orders for the album will start on January 7.

The group has already released the first teaser for the album. Timeless is the last album of the group's Time trilogy which includes their ninth full-length album, Time_Slip, and the special version of the album, called Timeline

It was also confirmed that the title track for the upcoming repackaged album was composed by Zico. A source from Label SJ teased that the track involves a music style that Super Junior tried for the first time.
