Meghan Markle has still not patched things up with her estranged father, Thomas Markle. Since their falling out in mid-2018, the Duchess of Sussex apparently continues to ignore her side of the family.

According to Daily Star, Meghan's half-sister Samantha Markle said that the duchess has not sent messages to their father, not even during the recent holidays. The older sister said that Meghan's ego is preventing her from reaching out to their dad because doing so would be like an admission of her guilt for cutting them out of her life.

Samantha also said that Thomas is still hoping for a reconciliation with his famous daughter. Meghan's side of the family have not even met their new relative, baby Archie Harrison, and Samantha believes that his mother is raising the boy with a "tunnel vision existence."

Archie's aunt, however, hopes that the young royal will grow up to be a "flaming liberal" who will seek and get to know this side of the family. However, she also hopes that they will still be alive when Archie tries to locate his relatives on his mother's side.

Meanwhile, Meghan's nephew Thomas Dooley Markle, is in the news again as he appeared in court on Tuesday, Jan. 7. The younger Thomas was arrested for drugs in September 2019 and has been going in a mental health diversion program instead of jail.

Thomas, 28, is the son of Meghan's half-brother Thomas Markle, Jr. He worked as a former pizza chain owner in California but the divorce from his husband sent him crashing to drug addiction. Like Meghan's father and sister, he also doesn't have any contact with his royal aunt who is now based in London.

Meghan and her husband Prince Harry recently got back to the U.K. after spending six weeks in North America for the holidays. After spending Thanksgiving in the U.S., the Sussex pair stayed in Vancouver, Canada for Christmas and New Year.

According to Daily Mail, musician David Foster helped set-up Prince Harry and Meghan's Canadian visit by finding a waterfront compound in North Saanich in the island. Foster is a Canadian who said that he was really happy to assist the royals as they took the time off away from London.

This week, Prince Harry and Meghan visited the Canada House in the U.K. to personally thank the people, through their High Commissioner, for their hospitality during their vacation. According to reports, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex enjoyed their brief stay as they were able to go around town like regular people.

Prince Harry and Meghan went hiking at the Horth Hill Regional Park and even sampled various local dining places during their Canada trip. It looked like the royal pair did savor their much-needed respite.
