MLD Entertainment hit back on MOMOLAND member Daisy after she made accusations including a claim that the company stopped her from joining her bandmates in promotions. MLD said Daisy made false accusations and admitted that they have been in conflict with the singer since she got involved in a dating scandal in early 2019.

In a new statement, MOMOLAND's agency denied all claims of Daisy and explained how things have gone sour between them and the singer. In an earlier interview with KBS's News 9, the singer accused MLD of preventing her from joining the rest of MOMOLAND in promotions. Daisy said she hasn't worked for the past nine months after MLD announced in March 2019 that she will take a break due to personal reasons.

MLD explained that after MOMOLAND finished promotions for their fifth mini-album, I'm So Hot, the group did not carry out any official promotions other than unit activities. The album was released in March 2019.

The 20-year-old K-pop idol also accused her agency of demanding a termination fee for her contract. MLD is allegedly asking for 1.1 billion won (approximately $943,330) as a penalty for the early cancellation of her contract.

MLD said when Daisy got involved in a dating scandal in February 2019 with iKON's Yunhyeong, they checked on her and then released a statement confirming the rumor. Apparently, Daisy's mother was disappointed by the agency's statement and demanded her daughter to be removed from MOMOLAND. MLD said Daisy knew all of her mother's plans.

Since MOMOLAND is in the process of preparing for a comeback album at the time, MLD asked Daisy if she would like to join the promotion for the upcoming album. The label said they did not get a clear answer from her.

Then, her mother sent legal documents on three different dates requesting the company to terminate Daisy's exclusive contract. In April, MLD approved the termination of Daisy's contract without any penalties. But apparently, the singer's camp rejected this offer and instead made monetary demand.

MLD did not agree with Daisy camp's demand and in August, they send over a legal document denying the party's original request to terminate the singer's contract. They also explained to her the amount of the penalty she needs to pay in case she wants to terminate the contract in advance.

MLD explained that their request for a contract termination fee was per Korea's entertainment contract laws. The law states that if an artist breaks the contract, he/she had to compensate the agency for damages and pay a penalty.
