Kate Middleton celebrated her 30th birthday at Kensington Palace despite the ongoing royal crisis of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry abdicating their royal duties. The Cambridges' official Instagram account, Kensington Palace, shared a snap of the Duchess of Cambridge's photo, to thank everyone for their birthday greetings.

Kensington Palace shared a never-before-seen photo of Kate Middleton to send her gratitude for everyone who sent their lovely messages. "Thank you, everyone, for all your lovely messages on The Duchess of Cambridge's birthday!" the caption read.

In the snap, she was wearing a grey sweatshirt overlaid on her white checkered polo, paired with blue denim. The future queen consort looked simple in her attire while sitting on the fence, wearing a lovely smile. The photo seemed to be stolen as she looked away from the royal photographer Matt Porteous.

Kate Middleton was wearing the same outfit she donned in the 2018 Christmas card of the Cambridges. Hence, a lot of people believed it was taken from the same occasion, per Express.

Royal fans also celebrated her birthday by leaving a comment on her post. One follower thanked Prince William's wife for cheering everyone up. Others, on the other hand, hoped Kensington Palace would post new pictures of her on her birthday every year. Another one thanked Kate Middleton for giving the future generation someone beautiful inside and out like her to look up to.

Royal family members also greeted the mother-of-three on her birthday, Harper Bazaar noted. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's greeting would be the first comment to be seen on Kensington Palace's post. "Wishing a very happy birthday to The Duchess of Cambridge today!" the couple wrote, accompanied by a birthday cake and heart emoji.

The comment was the first social media activity of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after they announced their decision to step down as the senior members of the royal family. Their post was both criticized and praised by their fans and critics alike.

Queen Elizabeth II herself also chimed in and greeted Kate Middleton. Compared to the Sussexes, who only left a comment to greet her, Her Majesty made a post dedicated to Kate, complete with a birthday greeting and photos of her and the Monarch together attending different royal engagements throughout the years. Prince Charles and wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, also posted a series of snaps with Kate to honor her on her very special day.
