Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's announcement to step back from their royal duties received a worldwide reaction. Although there were positive comments, commending the Sussexes' for their bold move, they also suffered a series of tirades from critics, media, and even high-profile personalities, accusing them of ruining a family relationship.

CNBC co-founder and media CEO Bridget Baker commented about the issue, saying what happened "could have been handled way better." Apart from the announcement's substance, she found the approach as "weak and manipulative."

"It smacks of leveraging their [hand emoji] (i.e., clout) unnecessarily," she said, per Express. Baker added that things could have been different if Prince Harry announced their resignation with his father, Prince Charles, brother, Prince William, and grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, by his side.

In the podcast Pod Save the Queen, the host Ann Gripper and Daily Mirror royal editor Russel Myers second Baker's comments, saying everything was about the way the issue had been handled. Sadly, there was a "breakdown of a family relationship" that happened there.

Myers said that it was a sad state of affairs, making him worried about who they took advice from. It seemed that it could work for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to have progressive roles, as the Duke of Sussex knew that a slimmed-down monarchy would soon happen.

However, the big question is, why are they rushing about it. Even though the Sussexes wanted to "get ahead of the curve," they didn't need to step down this early and announced it on Instagram without the senior royals' consent.

It was widely reported that Prince William and Prince Charles only learned about their announcement 10 minutes before it was made, while Queen Elizabeth had no idea about it. Hence, with what happened, it looked like Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle caused a massive breakdown of relationships.

Piers Morgan also said the same thing when he went on his series of tirades on Twitter, Business Times Online recently reported. When a netizen left a comment, saying Prince Harry was only protecting his family, on his post that what Meghan wanted she would get, he said the one thing that the Sussexes didn't do was to protect their family. They even accused the Duke and Duchess of Sussex of disowning them.

In his Daily Mail article, Morgan said that no one matched Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's behavior over the time that he saw a lot of "disgraceful royal antics." He called them arrogant, entitled, greedy, and disrespectful, asking Queen Elizabeth to remove their titles.
