There are reports that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released their surprising announcement without Queen Elizabeth II's consent and only 10 minutes after Prince Charles and Prince William learned about it. The Duke of Sussex, reportedly, rushed their resignation for the sake of his wife and royal correspondent Tom Bradby believed they didn't think through about it.
On ITV's Harry and Meghan Markle: A Royal Crisis, the Sussexes' close friend was also surprised about their announcement to step down from their royal duties, be financially independent, and balance their time between North American and the United Kingdom. "I was like wow, had it got to this point, I knew things went ideal, but I really didn't know," he said, per Express.
Tom Bradby believed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle hadn't decided how honest they were or weren't to be before they returned in the U.K. He thought their real intention when they dropped the bombshell was to make it a "pressure release valve."
With their plan, he said they might be preparing everyone for a new future that could see them creating a "profitable empire stateside." To prove this claim, there were rumors that they would charge a large amount of money for public speeches and write tell-all memoirs that could make them earn millions of dollars.
Tom Bradby also said that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle didn't think about their announcement, adding it lacked a degree of calculation. He felt like they only felt pressured to release their statement to find a solution to their situation, which they revealed on his ITV documentary last year.
The surprising release of their announcement was also said to be because it was ahead of its schedule. Daily Mail reported that Prince Harry might have dropped the news early due to Meghan Markle's mental and emotional wellbeing.
A source told The Sun that the former actress' state of mind was one of the major reasons why their decision was out right away. The statement was rushed because Prince Harry knew he needed to make a move for his wife quickly.
Prince Harry, reportedly, knew that Meghan Markle hadn't settled down in the U.K. yet, and he wanted to make her happy. Hence, he fast-tracked his plans to quit the monarchy, worrying the mother of his child would have a meltdown if she continuously stayed in England.
The prince is, allegedly, worried about Meghan Markle's wellbeing as her life at Buckingham Palace stays "on the brink." It might also be the reason why she returned to Canada early despite the ongoing crisis talks with her husband, Prince Harry.
