Prince William, reportedly, felt sad about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to step down as senior members of the royal family. But, before the crisis summit was even held, there were reports that the Duke of Cambridge gave his little brother some advice to get used to royal life that the latter seemed never followed.

According to Express, the second in line to the throne told his brother to slowly get used to the royal life with Meghan Markle as they took their relationship to the next level. At the time, their romance was still new, and they were about to get married.

Kate Middleton's husband was said to be worried about the Duke of Sussex's plan to propose to his then-girlfriend without getting used to the demands of royal life and spotlight. Royal correspondent Emily Andrews said, in an article in The Sun, in Dec. 2018 that Prince William knew Prince Harry was already "head-over-heels" for Meghan Markle, but he wanted him to take things slowly.

A source even said that Prince William told his brother they knew nothing about the former actress' background, her real intentions, and what she was really like. He wanted Prince Harry to understand that being a part of the royal family comes -- huge undertaking, pressure, and scrutiny. With that, he questioned if Meghan Markle was ready for the responsibility at the time.

Unfortunately, Prince Harry didn't take his older brother's words kindly. He, allegedly, went mental and accused Prince William of trying to end his romance with Meghan Markle even before it started. Since then, the insider claimed that the royal brothers relationship never recovered.

Now, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their plan to step back from their senior royal duties. A crisis summit was already held at Sandringham, led by Queen Elizabeth II together with Prince Charles, Prince William, and Harry.

Her Majesty was said to be reluctant about the move but accepted their decision. In a statement, she said they respect and understand the Sussexes' wish to live a more independent life, but they would remain as a valued part of the royal family.

Although Prince William didn't release an official statement about it, the Sunday Times reported he expressed his emotions of disappointment about his brother's so-called royal exit while speaking to an unknown friend about the issue. He said that he already put his arm around Prince Harry all their lives, but he couldn't do it anymore as both of them are now separate entities.

Prince William admitted he was sad about the decision, but all they could do is to try to support them and hope that time would come when they would be singing from the same page again. "I want everyone to play on the team," he said about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle leaving the monarchy.
