Hollywood actor Vince Vaughn is facing backlash after a video of him shaking hands with President Donald Trump during the NCAA football championship surfaced on social media. Though many expressed disappointment of the actor, some don't care and said it is just a distraction to more pressing issues that the Trump administration are facing at the moment.

Donald Trump had a more friendly reception at a football game this time around. In comparison to his experience when he watched a World Series game in Washington last year, POTUS and Melania Trump were greeted with cheers as they took the field for the national anthem before the LSU Tigers and Clemson Tigers' game in New Orleans.

Reports have it that some members of the audience cheered "USA, USA," while others chanted, "Four more years" when the president was acknowledged during the game. However, it seems like the game doesn't end well for Vince Vaughn.

The actor got "canceled" by fans as soon as the video of him in a friendly chat with Trump was shared online. Timothy Burke, CEO of media and political consulting firm Burke Communications, posted a video of the two while sitting at the private box.

In the clip, the Wedding Crashers actor was seen in a deep conversation with Trump. Melania was sandwiched right in-between them.

The chat ended with a firm handshake and POTUS also patted Vaughn's hand. Then, the actor waved at the people to the side of Trump before leaving.

"Vince Vaughn has been canceled," one Twitter user declared.

The clip, however, did not shock other fans. Some pointed out Vaughn has been known as a Conservative like Trump. He endorsed some GOP candidates in the past such as Ron Paul in 2008 and 2012, and his son Rand Paul in 2016.

The Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story actor is also vocal about his views on gun rights. In a 2015 interview with British GQ, Vaughn said banning guns is like barring a person to use forks to stop him from gaining weight.

Some, on the other hand, said a majority of Democrats are not actually mad at Vaughn. They believe that the backlash over him speaking to Trump is just a "distraction" that was created by conservatives.

"Vince Vaughn talking to Trump doesn't matter. What Bernie said to Warren one time in a private conversation hardly matters. The fact that Trump is allowing Russia to take over our elections matters a whole f***ing lot. Focus, people," one wrote.

Vaughn has not responded to the backlash. The actor has no existing social media account.

Meanwhile, others compared Vaughn shaking hands with Trump to Ellen DeGeneres speaking and sharing a laugh with former President George W. Bush during the Dallas Cowboys game last year. The video of the two received negative reactions from netizen, which DeGeneres addressed at her talk show.
