Donald Trump will be spending Christmas with First Lady Melania Trump and their son, Barron. The couple is expected to bond with Barron but the president is also anticipated to spend time on his phone, lashing out the architects of his impeachment, and also without a gift for his wife.

POTUS has launched fresh attacks on Christmas Eve on the Democrats. He accused House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer of having "real doubts" about the evidence they presented in Congress and are uncertain over the articles of impeachment that was voted on in Congress last week. The articles charge the president with abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

On Tuesday, the president also spoke with US troops stationed around the world via a video conference from his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach. During the video chat, one soldier asked POTUS what he had bought Melania for Christmas.

Trump revealed that he is still working on it as he has been behind on his shopping. The president said he has time left and suggests that he would get FLOTUS a gift before the clock strikes midnight. He, however, revealed that he already picked "a beautiful card" for his wife.

It seems like the President's go-to gift is a card and he is bad in thinking of presents even though the recipient is a loved one. In April, Trump was asked on Fox and Friends what he got his wife for her birthday. POTUS said he better not reveal it as it might get him in trouble.

Celebrating Christmas without a gift for his wife did not come as a surprise to many who know the first couple. A source close to FLOTUS told Hollywood Life last year that the couple doesn't exchange gifts at all for Christmas.

Meanwhile, the president also talked about North Korea's warning of a "Christmas gift" for Americans amidst the stalled nuclear weapons talks. Trump assured the US troops that the country would "deal with it" successfully before joking that maybe the gift from Kim Jong Un would be a beautiful vase and not a missile test.

Earlier this week, Trump also granted federal employees a day off on Christmas Eve for the second year in a row. He signed an executive order allowing federal employees to be with their family on December 24 but still receive full pay. However, he reminded them that some employees might have to report for duty if department heads determined it was necessary for "reasons of national security, defense, or other public need."
