After it was revealed that Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn spend a romantic getaway at the Maldives on New Year's Day and their PDA-packed appearance at the recent Golden Globe Awards, speculations about the future wedding of the couple have reemerged. Many are anticipating that an engagement could be happening soon.

Gossip Cop recalled the Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn's wedding rumors in the past and how it remained as rumors back then. In June 2018, it was reported that Taylor will be walking down the aisle in August of that year. Life & Style claimed Swift and Alwyn will get married during the break on the 1989 hitmaker's Reputation tour schedule.

It so happened that one of the breaks during Taylor's world tour would be at her hometown, Nashville. The supposed wedding would reportedly happen there. However, no Taylor-Jo nuptials occurred in town on that month.

In April 2019, another tabloid claimed the "Shake It Off" singer and Katy Perry were "racing each other to the altar." Star claimed Taylor got "secretly engaged" to Joe and that the singer was "furious" with Perry for announcing her engagement to Orlando Bloom.

Gossip Cop noted a source close to Swift confirmed that there was no truth about the tabloid claim. In addition, the tension between Taylor and Katy have subsided in the past month. In fact, Perry were among the celebrities who appeared on the music video of Taylor's "You Need To Calm Down" off from her latest album, Lover

Then, a couple of months later, the National Enquirer published a story stating the "Bad Blood" singer was planning a Fourth of July wedding at her Rhode Island mansion. Swift has been known for hosting extravagant Fourth of July celebration with her friends.

However, the outlet claimed the wedding was so secret that even Taylor's close friends didn't know about. As per tradition, she invited friends to celebrate the holiday and rumors have it that that the award-winning singer was using the celebration as a cover for a secret wedding. As everyone knows, no Fourth of July wedding went down last year and Taylor remains unmarried.

The couple also sparked engagement rumors back in October 2019 after they were spotted holding each others hands while heading to the Saturday Night Live afterparty in New York following Taylor's performance on the show. Onlookers spotted a diamond ring on Swift's finger and it sparked speculations that the couple could be engaged already.

The latest wedding rumor about Taylor Swift was last month when Heat claimed the singer was "at war" with La La Land actress Emma Stone while planning their respective weddings. The two are, reportedly,  racing each other to the altar.

While it's true that Stone got engaged to SNL writer Dave McCary in December, Taylor is not engaged with Joe. Gossip Cop stressed the story is completely fabricated.
