Tesla Cybertruck will enter production in 2021, but some auto enthusiasts are still talking about the all-electric pickup truck. Aside from the polarizing design of the upcoming pickup truck, its massive size and new advanced features got auto lovers talking. Interestingly, manufacturing expert Sandy Munro claims that the Tesla Cybertruck could be 'incredibly cheap' to put into operation.

Sandy Munro is a manufacturing expert who rose to fame following his teardown of the Tesla Model 3. Initially, he made nasty comments about the US electric vehicle maker. But he is now singing a new tune and more like appreciating Tesla for taking the lead in the manufacturing of electric vehicles.

Munro cites several factors that could contribute to much lesser Tesla Cybertruck production cost. The manufacturing expert mentions the lack of paint and the combination of the body with the platform. He also gives some rough estimate of around $30 million capital to produce 50,000 units of Tesla Cybertruck.

Since Munro has never seen the Tesla Cybertruck, his analysis is purely based on what the company has revealed about the truck. Despite this, Tesla CEO Elon Musk says his Tesla engineering analysis both in pro and con is accurate. Musk also adds that the manufacturing expert might want to take a look at the body design elements of the Tesla Model Y.

Meanwhile, the Tesla Model Y is believed to share 75 percent of the same components as the Tesla Model 3. Earlier this month, Musk went to Gigafactory 3 in Shanghai, China, to lead the delivery of Made in China Model 3 to customers. During the event, the Tesla CEO announced that the Tesla Model Y (MIC) would enter into production in the Gigafactory 3.

Musk also mentioned that the Tesla facility located in China would use advanced manufacturing technology in producing the Model Y. It appears that the crossover electric vehicle from Tesla is hitting consumers in a couple of weeks. The first hint was the CARB certification of the vehicle released on Jan. 9, 2020.

Following the certification, the Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) are now available. In fact, reports claim that the Tesla Model Y is now listed in the manufacturer's list of Tesla on the official website of the NHTSA. The most recent leak allegedly came from a Tesla employee who claimed that the deliveries would start in two weeks' time.

The Tesla Model Y was officially unveiled in Mar 2019 and was initially anticipated to hit the road in the Fall of this year. The all-wheel-drive Long Range variant retails at $47,700 while the rear-wheel-drive Long Range variant retails at $43,700. The Tesla Model Y all-wheel-drive performance retails at $56,700.
