Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to leave the royal family because they want to enjoy a quiet life, away from the prying eyes of the media. Politician and commentator Nigel Farage said, however, that the Sussex royals made a mistake in thinking that they will live in peace as private citizens.
Amid reports that Meghan will return to Hollywood now that Queen Elizabeth allowed them to move to North America, Farge said that there will be more media interest for the Sussex pair. He also called out Prince Harry after he said, in his speech at a recent Sentebale event, that they are not walking away from their royal life.
Farge said that, as a royal prince, the Duke of Sussex could have stayed on in his privileged life. Now, Farge sees that Prince Harry would be the househusband in Vancouver while Meghan travels back and forth to Hollywood and resume her career in show business.
The commentator could be right on the mark when he claimed there would be more media interest for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as private citizens. Agence-France Presse reported that their lawyers had to issue a media warning as soon as the duke arrived in Canada.
Apparently, Prince Harry took issues with the paparazzi following and hiding under the bushes to take photos of Meghan walking her dogs on Monday. Their lawyers claimed that there were also attempts to take indoor photos of the Sussex's rented house in Vancouver. Additionally, the lawyers warned they are prepared to file legal action for invasion of privacy as the Sussex royals did not give consent to have their photos taken.
Royal experts said that, in early January, paparazzi from the U.K. started flying to British Columbia as it became clearer Prince Harry and Meghan would be based in the North American region. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced on Jan. 8 that they will be stepping back from their royal roles and spend half their time in Canada and the U.K.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry also stated in his speech that they willing to serve the Queen while shunning public funding. Her Majesty, however, said they would no longer be called upon to represent her in official royal duties.
Thus, Prince Harry said this left them with no other option. He insisted that he's still the same prince that the British people have looked out for after his mother's death more than 20 years ago.
