It has been confirmed that a follow up to the immensely popular Pocophone F1 will be landing soon, and the likelihood is the device will be officially dubbed as the Poco F2. What will be unpacked with the Android handset is still largely unknown but it is believed that work on the project is now underway.

That much has been what Poco shared so far. The company is now a separate entity from parent firm Xiaomi, and its latest tease indicated that "Poco is here."

"Season 2 is live now! Brace yourself for impact," the device maker was reported by Android Headlines as saying.

Per the same report, Poco could be planning to roll out not only one device but a couple more that possibly will be released as the Poco F2 Lite. As the name implies, this model could be the more affordable version of the line, although the Poco phone is already known as relatively cheap but highly capable.

The Poco F2 Lite might be lighter on the component side, which could mean it will be powered by the Snapdragon 765 chip that, according to Qualcomm, was designed for mid-range handsets but with definite flagship capabilities.

It is the Poco F2 that will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC, which should carry on with the established reputation of the first Pocophone release. The device is expected to rock in gaming and other heavy-lifting functions in a mobile setup.

Also, the Poco F2 is seen to remain accessible, meaning the selling price could range between $300 and $400 in most markets where the handset will be deployed.

In this respect, the man presently in charge of the brand, C. Manmohan, has revealed that since Poco is now an independent company, its products will be found in more outlets and not just on online and physical stores owned by the China-based Xiaomi.

According to XDA Developers, Manmohan also gave a commitment that the Poco F1 sequel will reflect all the good things that made the first version a success. For the Poco F2, that should mean the use of the best components available for optimal mobile user experience.

"It [the Poco F2] will be a direct successor to the F1, offering a high-end chipset and great value for money," the report said.

The Poco chief also indicated that the Poco F2 could be released as early as March 2020, and the actual pricing will bear the signature of the brand as well as that of the Xiaomi. That translates to relative affordability when compared with the competition.
