During this year's CES, AMD shared a video of the alleged back of the Xbox Series X. Later, the semiconductor company admits that it is not based on the actual gaming console, but a render. Today, we have a new leaked image allegedly revealing both the front and back ports of Microsoft's next-generation gaming console.

Leaked Xbox Series X Images

The leaked Xbox Series X images were spotted on Neogaf and later surfaced on the social networking site, Twitter. The images reveal the front and back parts of a black rectangular console that looks a lot like earlier Xbox Series X renders. It also looks the same as the one Microsoft unveiled during last year's The Game Awards.

The images align with the details earlier said to be authentic as per Brad Sams of Thurrott. Based on the images, the next generation gaming console has some vents. Additionally, the images show a couple of USB-A ports (one in front and one at the back) and an optical audio port.

Apart from those, there is one HDMI-out, a power-in, and an Ethernet. The leaked images also show a rectangular port, which, according to Brad Sams, is intended for diagnostics. The Xbox Series X unit shown in the image comes with a serial number and the label saying "Xbox Product Name Placeholder."

It is worth noting that the alleged Xbox Series X images do not have the USB-C port. It confirms earlier rumors we heard a few weeks ago. The presence of the USB 3.0 as the primary interface of the gaming console underlines that the Xbox Series X will remain compatible with the Xbox One.

The absence of the USB-C port could mean that handsets and external storage would need adapters to work well with the machine. Also, most of the options reconcile with the inputs found on Xbox One X and Xbox One S variants. Even granting the authenticity of the leaked Xbox Series X images, it should not be taken as consistent with the product releasing this holiday.

Microsoft could still alter the design of the Xbox Series X and come up with a different design at its official release. At this point, we recommend taking these details with a pinch of salt and with skepticism considering that these are not yet official.

Other Xbox Series X Details

Microsoft had already unveiled the Xbox Series X last year. Microsoft Head of Studios Matt Booty earlier said that the first party exclusives launching on the next generation gaming consoles would be playable on the Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.
